What It Takes to Make a Lamborghini Film
Have you ever wondered how Top Gear, or /Drive, or really any manufacturer films their commercials and videos? Have you ever wanted to see the behind the scenes workings of how it’s all done?
Well, for the new Lamborghini Aventador Super Veloce, Lamborghini not only shot a new commercial and video for the car, but also filmed the behind the scenes to show what actually goes into making a short car film.
It’s safe to say, a lot goes into it. I’ve just personally started with video and it’s a huge production. Figure at least a 6-10 hour shoot day. Wrangling the cars. Finding a location. Setting up for all the shots you want or need.
Of which for a 5-7 minute film is about 75-100 separate shots. And then all the post you’ll need to do to collectively tell a story with the film. It’s insane and grueling work. But it’s also one of the most fun things to do in this job.
You get to create more of a narrative with video. Something that’s much more evocative than just print. Just take a look at this Lamborghini video and you’ll know what I mean.
