The Team Galag Gumball 300 Batmobile is INSANE!
It’s that time of year again. The time when a bunch of adrenaline-loving, rebellious and somewhat stuck-up millionaires get to drive their exotic rides across multiple continents for the sake of YouTube popularity. What am I referring to? The Gumball 3000 Rally, of course.
Team Galag is synonymous of such event, and think what you want about the rally and its participants, but imagine you had a supercar like a Ferrari 512 TDF, Koenigsegg Agera, or even Kitt from Night Rider, along with a cool $50,000 to blow on the admission ticket to a worldwide rally. You’d most likely strap a bunch of GoPros on your car and do crazy stuff with your friends too. Who can blame them?
In 2014, Team Galag tried to break the supercar mold and bring something completely out of the ordinary, so they attempted to recreate a Nolan-era Batman Tumbler, but the project hit multiple road bumps and was eventually called off. Funny enough, the Galag guys turned up at the rally’s starting line with a Tumbler-themed golf cart!
2016 has proven to be quite different from 2014, as they’ve actually pulled off the Batmobile build and it’s so much more than any of us could’ve imagined. The 2016 Team Galag Batmobile is a full carbon-fiber body with real cutting-edge technology behind it, and even a previous Koenigsegg lead engineer was involved in its development. Underneath the carbon fiber body sits an authentic Lamborghini V10 engine from a Gallardo, which pumps out more than enough power to make the Batmobile behave like it’s in a real Hollywood movie.
There aren’t any rumors on how much this bad boy (or should I say bat-boy?) costs, but it surely isn’t cheap, and we can only hope they don’t wreck it. If they do, we hope it’s in dramatic fashion.
