Terrorizing The Streets In A Wrecked Widebody Ferrari 458
What to do when you’ve crashed your Liberty Walk Ferrari 458? Scare the locals!
At last year’s Monterey Car Week celebrations, this Ferrari 458 Liberty Walk was involved in a bit of a fender bender. Actually, a pretty serious one that knocked most of the front end off of the car. Luckily nobody was hurt, and the car is still operational. Once back at the shop, the guys from Daily Driven Exotics decided to replace the minimum amount that needed to be replaced in order to make it functional again. A bit of work on the cooling system, replacing a wheel, and a metric ton of zip ties later, and the car is back to a minimum level of road-worthiness.
To celebrate the car’s newly regained functionality, they decided to take it for a few rips down some local roads and a few dozen donuts in a nearby shopping center parking lot. The 458 is already an attention-grabbing car with a sexy widebody kit and crazy zebra stripes, but people were probably doing double-takes when they saw this thing rolling down the road next to them with no doors and an absolutely destroyed front bumper. Kudos to these guys for driving their cars, even when they likely should not be driven. And extra appreciation is due them for being so light hearted about the whole ordeal. Getting upset doesn’t make the problem go away, but donuts are the perfect comfort food.
This Ferrari 458 was inadvertently treated to a bit of a Superleggera treatment, courtesy a Lexus IS. Take everything in stride and work it out. The car was ultimately an insurance buyout, and it later sold on a Copart.com auction. The new owner invited the old owner down to take it slaying tires one last time. How cool is that?
