2000hp Drag Race: Switzer/Protomotive’s 911 vs AMS’s GT-R Alpha 12
We love the 911. We also love the GT-R. Even since Nissan unleashed godzilla on the automotive world, their target has been the 911. That rivalry first played itself out on the Nurburgring, and now on the drag strip.
The Porsche has been worked over by the power hungry tuners at Switzer. They’re no strangers to turbo tuning, so their 997 is predictably fierce. Switzer and Protomotive have basically doubled the power of a stock Turbo, bringing output up to 950 hp. Their competition this round is from another familiar name in the tuning world: AMS. At 1100hp, AMS’ Alpha 12 is one of the fastest GT-Rs anywhere. In fact, the only one faster is probably their own Alpha Omega GT-R.
Switzer’s Porsche might be down on power, but it also weighs a lot less. Will it be enough to beat the GT-R in the quarter? In the mile? Watch the video to find out.
