The Renault R.S. 01 Gives French Speeders the Middle Finger
Ah, France! The land fine wines, fine cheeses, glamorous beaches and a couple of hot hatchbacks. But from now on, they shall be known as the land of the most badass Police interceptor in the world.
Because France is too fancy for Crown Vics, French automaker, Renault, threw some sweet Police lights on their GT Racer—the R.S. 01, and gave it to legendary rally driver, Jean Ragnotti. The mission? To catch a pesky, motorcycle-riding law-breaker. (You know the type)
While we’ve seen Police Lambos, Corvettes, and even Bugatti Veyrons before, this Renault GTR racer is strictly that, and not street legal. Still, considering the R.S. 01 possesses a 542 horsepower engine, and some of the most advanced aero body work in the racing-sphere, it’s awesome to see what the world’s coolest Police chase would look like.
Yes, some motorcycles are extremely powerful and easy to maneuver between traffic, but my money is still on the Renault. What about you?
