Spy Video of Ferrari’s F70 With Sound!
Ferrari has been keeping the F70 under lock and key like some sort of mythical beast behind the walls of their Maranello compound. But every now and then, it escapes into the streets like a wild animal. The last time it showed up was in still shots snapped by some extremely lucky spy photographer (who was probably camped outside in hopes of seeing something new from Ferrari). This time they got video of the F70 as it toured the streets of Italy. With sound too.
Unlike those shots from a few months back, we can really get a look at the full shape of the new car. The tiny rear window looks awfully similar to the rear hatch used on James Glickenhaus’ P4/5. In fact, the whole thing looks closer to that one-off model than it does a regular Enzo. Depending on how much you like Glickenhaus’ car, that could be a bad or a good thing. Still, of course, it’s basically impossible to tell what’s underneath that black plastic.
Underneath that glassy cover beats a 12 cylinder heart hooked up to Ferrari’s F1 derived KERS system. Yep, in case you didn’t know already, that makes the Enzo’s successor a hybrid. Don’t worry though, considering the KERS system regularly catches fire in F1, it’s not likely Ferrari’s flagship will be losing any of the brand’s famous charisma.
