Insane Track Focused Ferrari F12 Coming Soon
Ferrari and Lamborghini have been trading punches for years. It is actually the basis of Lamborghini’s existence and was the impetus for the company to begin building supercars. A few years back, Ferrari brought out the F12 Berlinetta, a rival to Lamborghini’s Aventador. The two traded a few blows to one another, but then Lamborghini brought out the hardcore Aventador SV, and the Ferrari was effectively knocked out of the ring.
However, Ferrari is currently in the process of building a more track oriented F12 that will get the company back into the fight, and possibly knock the Aventador SV on its proverbial behind. According to Carscoops, Ferrari is hard at work at creating what they call, “an F12 Speciale” although previous reports stated that the F12 could receive the fabled GTO badge, much like its predecessor.
Reportedly, the F12 Speciale will be 441 lbs lighter than the standard F12, and will get a boost of 30 horsepower giving the F12 Speciale a total of 760. This significantly improves the Ferrari’s power to weight ratio and puts it well past the Lamborghini. There’s still no word though on when we will see the car in the flesh, but since the Aventador SV is currently tearing up the track, it shouldn’t be all that long.
