Track Test: 2014 Corvette Stingray VS 2013 BMW M3 Coupe Lime Rock Park Edition
We’ve seen the 2014 Corvette Stingray go against the SRT Viper, Nissan GT-R and Porsche 911 Carrera S. In each of those comparisons (links provided) there had been a significant price gap between the C7 Corvette and its respective challenger. This week, the Corvette meets a commensurately priced competitor: the 2013 BMW M3 Coupe. As optioned, this M3 would have cost about $73,000, but thisĀ is the Lime Rock Park Edition, which is $10,000 dearer, and not really differentiated from the standard M3. The Corvette’s as-tested price is $69,675.
Watch the video below, and you’ll see the difference between a car beginning its life cycle versus one a few breaths shy of the funeral. The Corvette beats the M3 at the track, but Edmunds would rather have the BMW as their daily driver.
Could you drive a ‘Vette every day, or does the M3’s four-seat practicality win your heart?
