Does anyone remember the photo of a black 930 with a Honda K-Series motor sitting on an engine stand next to it that surfaced last year? A couple of weeks after that photo shocked the car enthusiast world, the owner Scotty G announced that the K20A2 (From an ’02-’04 Acura RSX Type S) will indeed be installed into the engine bay of his 930. Oh, and he also planned on turbocharging it. He even posted a photo of the engine mocked up sitting inside the bay just to tease us even more. No updates were posted after that. Until now…

For the past couple of weeks, YouTube videos of Scotty G’s K20 powered black beauty have been surfacing on Facebook and other social media platforms. A year and change later, the turbocharged K20A2 is finally installed via custom mounts. However, the motor had to be pushed further up towards the front to avoid any clearance issues. As if throwing in a Honda motor was ludicrous enough, the K20 was given a significant bump in power with help of Stage 3 cams and a Garrett GTX3076 turbocharger. Compression reads at a lovely 10.5:1 ratio.  No power figures were mentioned by the Scotty G, but I’m sure we’ll find out soon enough.

Simply looking at the 930’s exterior, you would never have guessed a K20 sits inside the engine bay. The owner obviously put in a ridiculous amount of time with the engine swap, but his attention to detail also extends towards the rest of the car. Up front, custom multi-LED headlamps have been installed to replace the stock halogen units. With the bump in power, Scotty needed to make sure the chassis can handle it properly. With that in mind, he opted to upgrade to GT3 front suspension from Elephant Racing and also upgraded to a 2008 Cayman front brake package. Out back the rear glass has been modified with air ducts to make sure the K20 gets in as much fresh air as possible.

Simple and to the point is the theme you’ll see inside the 930 – Racing steering wheel, bucket seats, harness, and a roll bar. A custom dash and foot plates compliment the racy feel of the cockpit. Even the OEM door panels were ditched for custom aluminum plates to save  weight.

In the interview video, Scotty G mentions that he’s planning on putting his baby through its paces soon, so we’ll see how she’ll do when the time comes. Stay tuned!
