1950 Ferrari 166 MM

Supercar fans rejoice! You can secure one of the Italian marque’s earliest cars, the 1950 Ferrari 166 MM, and it will only cost you right around 6 million pounds. Our friends at The Sun show us exactly how you can own this beautiful piece of history, for a hefty price – despite needing full restoration. Minor details, right?

Back in the 1950’s, this Ferrari lived it’s glory days ruling over the most challenging road and street courses in Europe, claiming victories, as well as Ferrari fan’s hearts. It even retained a 50-year-old university parking permit in the window. Now that’s a story in itself… This particular Ferrari is being described as “one of the last great unrestored Ferraris” and rightfully so.

A few fun facts:

  • It’s first driver Bertone finished third in class and 14th overall in 1950, completing the 1,000 mile road race in 15 hours 22 minutes.
  • This was an average speed of around 65 mph – with the Ferrari 166 MM capable of a top speed of more than 110 mph thanks to its 2-litre V12 engine.
  • The car continued to be raced but in 1953 it was transformed into a ‘berlinetta’, or closed roof coupe, by the iconic coachbuilder Zagato.
