The Viper Exchange Builds a Sledgehammer

2015 Dodge Viper

Here’s the thing. The Dodge Viper is one of my most favorite cars on the planet. It was my first bedroom wall poster, and continues to impress me all those years later. After finally driving one for the first time this year, there wasn’t ever the thought in my mind that what this car needed was more power. Maybe a better seating position so I wasn’t eye level with the roof, but definitely not more power.

For some reason though, I seem to be in the minority, and that’s where the Viper Exchange come into play.

After hearing some customers gripe about how the Hellcat twins are more powerful than the current Viper, TVE went to Chrysler and pleaded to let them play with the monstrous V10. The company agreed and TVE immediately slapped a 4.3L blower onto the massive V10 for an extra 250 horsepower.

Thankfully, that is the stage 3 package which is dubbed the Sledgehammer. If you just want a small boost in power, they have two other stages that range from 25 extra horses, to 180.

TVE hasn’t released full pricing on the Stages yet, but supposedly the Stage 1 starts at $1,100. But come on, you know you’ll go for the full beans Sledgehammer version.
