Along with the Mastretta MXT and the Inferno Exotic Car, the Vuhl 05 Speedster (see above) has helped to make Mexico an emerging sports car market. Now, days before the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed, Vuhl has announced that it created a more hardcore version, and it will debut at the event.

The “younger brother” 05RR, as Vuhl is calling it, will be part of a brand new category at Goodwood, Race Cars for the Road. The first time the public will see the faster and lighter track-focused version will be when GP2 driver and Formula 1 test driver Jordan King will take it up the famous Goodwood Hillclimb.

“We have upgraded all the car’s systems to make it faster, more engaging and even more track focused,” VUHL Technical Director Iker Echeverria said. “We feel very close to the UK market, as around 50% of our componentry is developed and produced in Britain, and it is the place we debuted our first car.”

After plenty of track research, the new car will feature “aggressive mass reduction and aero programmes” and “top quality components.” As of right now, that’s about all the company is givin us, along with the preview photos below that show carbon fiber wheels, aerodynamic canards, what appears to be a centered exhaust, and upgraded suspension. For those who will still want to drive to the track, the 05RR will be street-legal, as well.
