W Motors Lykan HyperSport Debuts at Yas Marina
In 2012, W Motors released the first concept artwork for the company’s first ever supercar, the Lykan HyperSport. In fact, it would be the first supercar ever to be wholly produced in the Middle East. Now, three years later, W Motors is finally ready to show off a production car.
The HyperSport made its grand entrance into the world of supercar a few days ago at the famous Yas Marina Formula 1 circuit. Using what appears to be a Porsche sourced 3.7L Flat Six coupled to a 7-speed dual clutch gearbox, the HyperSport supposedly can get from 0-62 in just 2.8 seconds.
However, performance wasn’t all that the Lykan’s founders set to accomplish. They wanted to take the top spot for the most expensive car in the world. And with a price tag of $3.4 million, they came mighty close. Nevertheless, even with diamond headlights, and both rubies and sapphires integrated into the Lykan’s design, that spot is still held by the Maybach Exelero and the Lamborghini Veneno.
The Lykan Hypersport will finally be in showrooms throughout the world at the end of 2015, with the first coming to the States in late November. The car will end up at the Miami Royal Motors showroom.
