Watch Walter Röhrl Manhandle the Porsche 718 in Portugal
Much like Mercedes-Benz, Porsche has shaken up the multiple names in their otherwise stagnant line up of cars. But the one thing that isn’t stagnant, is the incredible performance behind these German hotrods.
The Porsche 718 comes in Cayman and Boxster flavors, and subsequently in S and non-S trims, with the base model pumping out a very respectable 300 horsepower, and the S model a whopping 350. That being said, both models will put a big smile on your face, as German superstar driver, Walter Röhrl demonstrates on this video.
As with most Porsche models (at least the ones that don’t cost a mega-fortune), the German automaker isn’t always fixated on horsepower figures. It’s driving dynamics like accelerating, braking and cornering that sit at the top of the list, with power and torque being tailored around such characteristics.
You can see exactly that on this video, as Röhrl tackles the slalom and other challenging driving challenges at a testing location in Portugal, where the stable weather provides Porsche with nearly year-round testing conditions.
