I just bought a beautiful '87 Carrera 3.2 Coupe in Black with Champagne leather. It's a pretty highly optioned 3.2 with Ltd Slip, Full Leather, Heated Seats, Velour Trunk Carpet, etc. I really missed this shape and feel. The newer cars are great but this is really what I think of when I think of the pleasure a 911 Carrera can bring. It's so simple and pure and the limits are well within my realm of driving talent. It's a challenge to get right and you can use most of what it can do on public roads without puting everyone in danger. Anyway, I just figured I'd mention it. I'll try to get some pics on here soon.
I can understand your opinion on the feel of older versus newer p-cars. It is pretty easy these days to buy a car " any brand" that can go faster than an older 911, but there is nothing I have found that can stir the soul as well as an old 911. Windows down, air/oil cooled music behind you, smell of engine fluids and old horse hair ....God I love it!

I agree 100%. I think that it's such a great package with no driver interference at all. And, unlike a lot of modern cars, it actually requires practice and skill. I think I'm going to hold onto this one for a while.

Hey,

That RSR clone Black beauty is mine. It was totaled 1 week after this picture.

The new car is just about out of the Paint shop. It will look the same, on a 75 carrera chasis. Gold with the original Carrera tail. Cain't wait to get that 3.8 monster back on the road. I miss the 315 horses in a 2140 pound car. It should be ready for Rgruppe next year.

Thanks for the memories. It will be back to run again. For the third time.

the classics are neat, but you can't beat technology for reliability and lower maintenance. i have had rs's ,a2 73's ,one 74, an iroc car, a one off porsche built for mansour ojjeh. and currently own a 934 factory racecar. unless you have a bottomless pocket, it's tough to keep these early cars going.
