jack stand placement

where is the best (recommended) spot for jack stands front and back for my '74 911. one site says the torsion bar tube covers for the back. sorry for all the questions but this is how i am learning. thanks ahead of time.

that's correct, for the back the torsion bar covers are the best place, I usually place a small piece of wood on the jack to avoid any damage to the underside of the engine that will make contact with the jack, for the front theres a place around the stabilizer bar.
