Checking a 1970 911T before Purchase

Hi everyone,

I'm going to see a 1970 Porsche 911T Targa out today, apparently the car has been sitting for 20 years but the engine runs strong. I have owned multiple 996's before but never an older Porsche. Could someone advise me what sorts of things I should check out before I buy this car (other than oil leaks, previous accidents, etc). Are there any common problems on these cars?

The car is a pretty good deal at around $5000 so I will need to make a quick decision and not be able to take it to a mechanic to get it up on a hoist. I'm prepared to do repairs myself once I get the car........

Thanks,

What are you looking to do with it? Keep it or just turn it and sell it. I think for 5k though, ether way it sounds like a good deal especially if it runs and not a lot of rust.

That's looking good. You'll have to start a build thread
