911 Newbie Where Can I learn Everything 911?

I'm looking for resources to educate myself regarding 911's from the late eighties. I think I'm interested in a 1987 or '88 cabriolet. I want to know what the suspension, brakes and motor are capable of. What does it take to build a hot motor and do suspension upgrades, ect., besides cash.

I was thinking about this for a while, then, today I saw a 1986 cabriolet carrera with a factory turbo tail, white with black interior and trim and 16" wheels. The owner said it had been lowered to european ride height specs. It was shweet!

I'm also a Toyota 4x4 enthusiast. I like the mid to late eighties 4runners and pickups. Some of the forums for that are fabulous, with guys dropping in Supra turbo motors or tweaking the 4 cyl turbo motor that came stock in some. In any case there is a critical mass of people sharing a rich base of knowlege from mild to wild for the Toyota 4x4 enthusiast. I hope I can find something like that for the 911. Thanks.

Matt
