1984 911 trans problems PLEASE HELP

I'm in a bit of a bind here. Just got back from taking out my 1984 C2. Halfway into my ride the tach stopped working and then at a stop light I heard a clunk and then I couldn't use 2nd, 4th or reverse afterwards. I limped it back to my house and came in to try and figure out the problem before taking it somewhere.

Anybody have any idea on what is wrong. Oh yeah, the clutch was replaced about 1500 miles ago and the car only has 69K on it total.

Please help me out.

I think I have narrowed it down to the gear selector from there I guess it could probably be a bushing. Good thing I'm talking to myself.

For anyone who cares, maybe a future person with this problem, it was the synchro gear snapping of the main gear. 2nd gear is the main culprit for this problem and that is where mine occured.

It does require a full teardown and was around 2500 bucks. Not too bad but definately not much fun for a random occurance. The guy that replaced mine said he had done 2 in the past month for the same problem. It's just a weakness on the usually sturdy 915 tranny.
