What do you think of this 911?
Thinking about using this to go to work 2 to 3 times a week. I must admit, I don't know much about the older 911's. Looking for a little guidance.

I think you found a nice car and it seems like it has all the "right" things done to it. As most will tell you on here a well sorted SC will easily run 300K miles. As far as the price I will let others chime in as I am not that familiar with the going rate for SCs.
If you do purchase it, the first thing you will need to do is remove the chin spoiler. I believe that it was designed to work with the rear spoiler and shouldn't be on the car without one. Can anyone confirm that??

3.2 Carrera's were available in the US from 84-89. The 87-89 cars had the more desireable G-50 trans. Any 911 from 1964-2007 can be driven to work 2-3 times as week as long as the temps are cooler than 90 degrees IMO.
Good luck with the search and feel free to ask away if you have any more questions.

How about this one? It's a completely rebuilt '77 911s.

That red SC looks nice. An SC is a little closer to what a 911 should be than a later 3.2 Carrera, they are too heavy and lost the feel of the early 70s cars.
That '77 Carrera clone could be nice if it's not rusty and the engine is checked out by a good 911 mechanic.
The air cooled 911s are wonderful and are a good buy now, sure to appreciate.

"The car is a 1977 S that I've been restoring over the past few years. Its Gulf Blue with black interior. The interior was originally blue, white and black and has since been died all black. It has new RS door panels with blue pulls, a Momo sport steering wheel and re-skinned front seats. The car also has MA Shaw Yellow Bird front and rear fiberglass bumpers, and Duck Tail along with welded on steel 911 SC flares on the rear fenders. The mechanicals of the car are such.....original 2.7 motor completely rebuilt less then 3k miles ago. Dilavar turbo head studs were used and Carrera hydrolic tensioners were installed. A very good set of original headers with heat exchangers are mounted to a 2 in 2 out sport muffler. All new plug wires and hot air tubes. The clutch was replaced with a Sachs sport clutch and tje original 915 5 speed was freshened up. The car sits on the original suspension and has been lowered to Euro specs. Weiltmister front and rear sway bars were added and the original wheels were swapped out for a set of 930 Turbo Fuchs with brand new Kumo Ecsta tires. The sun roof was completely redone and works perfectly as does everything else on the car. I have over $19k in it and would like to get some where in the $16k range for it. Its a blast to drive and really turns heads. I really hate to part with it but I have a son getting his licenses and need the space for his car. If you have any questions please don't hesitate to call me any time."

$16K is a deal if it's clean, a good 2.7 engine rebuild can cost $10K. That car has all good stuff on it. The rear 16x9 fuchs are worth a lot. I think that car is worth $20K if the chassis is clean and the engine was done professionally.
It will be more fun to drive than an SC or 3.2 Carrera (lighter/nimbler) and almost as quick if the engine was done right. My stock 2.7RS does 13.2s in the 1/4 mile, a strong 3.2 Carrera can do close to 14 flat.

The C4 is OK, but I would rather have a 3.2 Carrera over a Awd 3.6. Let's find you a nice 90-94 C2.
