Angry damn thing wont start.

i have a 1987 944s n/a i have replaced the cap, rotor, coil, plugs. had the starter checked and battery is good.the problem is when i try to start it it just turns over and over it is getting gas i can smell it like it is flooding it just wont hit. pulled a plug out and had someone turn the car over and i do not see a spark off the plug.there are no loose wires that i can see.i am going to replace the dme.does anybody have any other suggestions. please

I would turn on the ignition and check the coil input side for battery voltage...if there is no voltage there then the ignition switch is a likely candidate...unless you trace it down you can end up replacing a lot of parts unnecessarily....we have a company here called Electric Lab that specializes in electrical problems...if you have someone like that in your area it would be worth it to flatbed it there and have them diagnose the problem...I don't know how user servicable the ignition switch is on these cars....you probably will need a special tool...good luck

Test everything before spending more money

i just had the same problem with my 951 and replaced everything. what happen's is the alarm control module gets moisture in it and goes bad not letting the car get spark. you can remove the module and jump the wires to bypass the module or replace it. on some models the box is located behind the radio its a black box about the size of a cigarette box or on the passenger size floor board. Pull back the carpet remove wood panel with the 4 screws under that in you DME above the DME to the left the box could be there. If your car is still not running ill give you jumper info to test the box
