928 GTS - wide wheel arches
Has anyone seen these wheel arches before? They are original from Porsche. Is it possible to remove them? Will there be any holes in the fender?

They were on cars usually exported to Japan. There were also what I would call integrated mud flaps on the rear wheels too. The rears look pretty good and fit the body lines, the fronts do not IMO. I will look for a picture of the rear and post it....

Thanks Chuck, no need for picture of the mud flap, I'm interested in knowing about the front wheel arch extension and how it is attached. Have you seen them in real life? Do you know if it's possible to remove them without having to paint the fenders? Have never seen this before, but a few cars on mobile.de have these fenders, possible they have been imported back to Europe then.

Funny how we say "back" in the 80's. Makes me feel real old, but heck those were awesome times. Weird Science is how I first fell for the 928. That burnout scene always sticks in my mind. Or was it Kelly LeBrock?

These things make me shudder. They look like a cheap afterthought that disturb the timeless lines of the car.
I'd rather have the wider finders that the Porsche Exclusive department offered towards the end of the prodouction. I think those became available some time during the 1994 model year and supposedly were steel instead of aluminum!!! But they look like the original ones, just wider.
