Fabspeed's New 1987 Factory Slantnose
#48
Nice car, looks great, but a few bolt on muffler and intake changes don't quite get there. Are you thinking about some internal engine upgrades??? Pistons, cams, valves, valve springs and keepers, port and polish heads, oversize intake manifold ??? You could make this into a 700HP monster with a few more bucks...just my take on it....Pipes

I will follow the progress as well, since I have a slantnose 380 wheel hp. I built it my self, 3.3 sleeves, tech 3 stand alone, twin plugs, b&b exhaust, 3.6 crank, 3.2 intake,964 cams, ruf intercooler. I will post some pics also.

So if the 930S factory USA slantnose couldn't look or run any better, we just picked it up from Powertech and what a great job those guys did. We really wanted to make this car special and take care of it the right way, and the guys at Powertech were the ones to do it. So I will state everything that was done and what the car put down to the wheels after it was all said and done. The car was transformed immediately after picking it up and really made us a realize the potential and energy this car has.
The work that was done, began with the disassembly of the Engine top end, down to the engine case. Removal and inspection of the connecting rods and bearings was done and reassembled with new rod bolts and bearings, piston rings and reconditioned cylinder heads. All the external engine sheet metal was refinished to give it the out of the factory look.
Here are the rest of the things that were done:
Kokeln Intercooler upgrade
K27S Turbo Upgrade
New Patrick Motorsports oil cooler and adapter lines- hooked up to existing Right Rear USA 930S oil cooler
Bore and port match intake manifold
38mm Billet Intake blocks
Disassemble and inspect Gearbox- completely rebuilt. Completely detailed case
964 Cams
Aluminum pressure plate and Sport Clutch Conversion
Remove, clean, inspect and repack front wheel bearings.
Complete 4 wheel semi aggressive suspension alignment
Replaced Turbo Feed oil lines
Replaced Fuel Distributor and Fuel lines
Pressure Washed Chassis with engine and gearbox removed. Wheel wells detailed and repainted as needed.
Powder coated Fan and Housing, and engine tin sheet metal to concours conditions.
Tee assembly fitting and adapters for Boost Gauge, Kill switch and Wategate control. 934 factory Boost guage to replace clock
Struts removed, Cleaned and touched up.
Upgraded torsion bars
A/C was completely replaced with all new parts like fans, condensers and recharged with new Griffith barrier lines.
Shortshifter installed.
New 930S floor mats from performance products- black with red outside edge and red 930S logo
Front RED-LINE strut camber brace
Factory 930 brakes completely rebuilt and powdercoated to look like brand new with wurth gold correct cadmium plated hardware
Front factory 930S front spoiler installed and certain parts repainted Guards red.
18” HRE 3 pieces polished and clearcoated wheels
930S steering wheel
Fabspeed MAXFLO 3rd generation headers with F1 Indy car merge collectors and cast turbo collector and dual outlet MAXFLO sport exhaust.
Fabspeed MAXFLO CUP style air-intake system
Pictures below of the car when we got it back and Dyno results of the car after all the work was done. The car just feels unbelievable and sounds incredible now with our full exhaust system and all the tuning. After all the work, the car put down 397.68 Horsepower and 363.68 Ft. Lbs of Torque to the wheels, now thats power you can feel. PM or email me if you have any questions.
Thanks,
