CV Joints
After tearing down all 4 CV joints I found that only 1 of them is reusable. 3 of them have deep grooves & pitting in the races. I will try to resurface the best looking joint and reuse it along with 3 new ones.

So in the meantime, I've done some body work to keep myself busy...painted both the flags and the front valance

Lookin' good. I'm looking at a 930 Turbo and several Porsche guys I know have tried to talk me out of it. Squirley handling, unpredictable turbo lag, etc. The consensus is that a 930 turbo is not a good "first Porsche". Maybe they are just jealous.
Thanks for the updates.

Do yourself a favor and listen to all that advice, then go out and drive both and decide for yourself

Your Porsche guys/friends are right if you are looking for a modern, comfortable and well mannered car for your wifie to drive to dinner, but they are dead wrong if this car is for you and you're looking for a car with soul and raw power cuz a 930 has more of both then anything they're talkin about with all the electronic stability control and high tech parts they put on them now that dumb down the driving experience.

Gearbox on dolly
I had the gearbox up and ready to mate with the motor when realized that 3 of my 4 studs were the wrong length. Two were about 10 MM short & one was about 20 mm short. New studs ordered from McMasters and if they get here this week then I will try to get the motor back in the car this weekend after a year of rebuilding both the car & motor. Guess there's worse things to do with your time & money

Stage 8 CV Joint Fasteners
I ordered a set of locking CV joint bolts so I don't have to worry about the bolts backing out after being torqued
