930 Turbo as daily driver?
Just curious as to how many of you fine folks out there use your 930 Turbos as daily drivers.....pros/cons? I find I keep looking for a 930 for myself.......can't stop thinking about those cars!!!
Thanks!!!

Not a 930 owner, but the thread title piqued my interest. (Besides, I've always been a fan of the 930!)
Anyhow, Abdon, you can pretty much DD anything. I daily drive a '98 993 C4S Aero that was dropped to within an inch of its life in the Northeast for 18 months. It was a BLAST, but the rigid tuned/M030 suspension, narrow hardback sport seats, and strong clutch simply started to wear on me over time. It would be a GREAT weekend driver, but not a quality long-term DD IMHO.
After driving an '06 911, I think trying to DD a 930 "might" grow old on you rather quickly. Then again, to each their own... and you have the added benefit of living in a warm weather climate. And I don't regret using a 993 as a DD for the time that I did.
Good luck with the hunt! The 930 is truly a classic design.

It is my daily driver and I love every minute of it. It is fast as Hell and that is how I drive it. If I take any other car I instantly become Larry David in a Prius. I take the Red Menace and the whole thing is an adventure...never ending thumbs up..these cars are the most fun to drive . Also, once they are set up , they are dead dependable..Ferraris are not. These guys stay in tune..they are simple thugs. I live in FL had a new AC put in about 6 yrs. ago and it is as cold as you want as long as you want.. One more thing: they function better if they are driven frequently.

This one has less than 11,000 miles, clearly not a daily driver...

The fact that it has done on average less than 425 miles per year since built suggests that it has to now not been a DD

Well yeah, but I figured that just means it's a prime time to buy it and use it. lol

My Brother in Law has a 1980 that has over 300,000 miles on it and has never been garaged and he drives it all over the place. Excellence has an article this month about one that has over 600,000 miles on it and just ran the Texas Mile at 175mph (has gone through a few engines etc. ) So durability is a strength...

Hope to find out soon! The one thing I've heard about low mileage 930's is that if they sit for long periods of time, the CIS components can start to deteriorate and are expensive to replace. To me, that would be a good opportunity to convert to EFI I was set on getting a 997, but the more I look at the 930, the more intrigued I get.

Since I sold my M5 I've been DD'ing the 84 930 (Canadian spec).
It's fun... but the non-power steering and stiff clutch get old in stop and go traffic. Plus I'm constantly nervous of the other drivers.
My AC is "marginal" at best. Heater works well enough to roast marshmallows.
