I hate to say i told you so but.....I TOLD YOU SO!!!! SW supra is nothing to be messed with. Funny thing is he has more left on the table and he still never used 6th gear. Eddie could not make it this time because he broke his tranny.

His supra lost a belt & may have over-heated, & didn't hear anything else about any further runs in his 996TT. I think he did a 212 pass, but was supposed to run again...I left, never heard if he made any higher MPH passes. Pooh.

both cars are street cars... the black car could be driven to the races too if he wants but the car has under 10,000 miles i believe and the owner prefers to keep it mint... any car can be driven on pump gas if you stay out of boost... both are great cars but i already smell the excuses coming from the porsche camp..

The car you are referring to is Tommy's Autobahn Supra with a 228+.

tommy bahn ran 228mph two years ago at the texas mile winning the event..
chris johnsons silver supra piloted by SW ran 229.7mph winning the event and beating tommys old time in 2007..
in 2008, SW piloting his personal supra ran 234mph in his shakedown pass which i was referring to and then ran 242mph in his second pass winning the event... as you can see, i didnt mean tommys supra..
you woke up a 2 month old thread to say i made up an excuse? why do i need to make up an excuse for the car that won?

Eddie has a fantastic car, sunroof issue aside. It's very powerful & unbelieveably reliable, esp. for an air-cooled engine: that's phenominal.
SW's supra is a low 8-second 6-speed car with nearly 2000hp (1570rwhp I believe): that's hard to beat. He's a friend of mine & all his cars are top-notch: no expense spared with each modification carefully calculated. Give credit to the builder & the beast: both are top-of-the-market.
Wish Eddie was at the Tx-mile, I was wanting to meet him again: I met him at SEMA some 10 years ago: nice guy.

The MOST impressive thing about SW's car/runs, is that Chris put the exact same engine, not touched except for a few cleaner chrome pieces, into SW's car which then propelled the car to two more records: same engine, 3 Tx mile records, a few very high dyno pulls, a lot of 8 second passes in both cars...& has not been apart since Chris built it nearly 3 years ago: THAT'S impressive.
