964 Turbo S 'Package car' for sale
#16
To help clarify this....Back in 1992, Porsche came out with a limited run of widebody, lighweight cars. These cars were 3.3ltrs and never came to the USA market. These car were lightweight versions, similar to the Carrera RS and weighed about 2884lbs. The cars had many lightweight components that never were options on US cars, i.e. lightweight glass, doors, hood etc. Even the wiring harness on this car was lightened. Porsche made an estimated 80 of these cars.
The 1994 3.6ltr turbo was nothing similar to this car, except for the widebody. The "S" was the model designation at the end of the model year and was a "beefed-up" 3.6ltr motor, with special rear quarter vents, and most of the cars came with the flatnose. This was also a rare car.
For more information, go to http://www.0-100.it/porsche/964/turb...rbos_engl.html for information on the 1992-1993 Turbo S and to www.flachbau.com for the 1994 3.6ltr Turbo S.
By the way, the one Sloan has for sale is very rare, since most people did the flatnose option.
