Poll: Trade/dont Trade - My Bmw/964 Cab
Hey guys, I just joined up but have been lurking around the board for a while now. I have the opportunity to become a Porsche driver and want to get everyones opinions on if I should go for it or not. I have the opportunity to trade my car, plus $1300 for a 1990 White C2 Cabriolet, 5 speed, Black top/interior with 70k. I will be allowed to keep my stereo components and double din navigation along with a few other mods off of the car, totaling to about $2500 in cash once sold, so after the deal is said and done, I would have the porsche and $1200 back to me, no money out of pocket. I planned on selling my car anyways, and trying to get $18k out of it, listing it up for 20 and accepting offers. So those are the 2 choices, Trade, or Dont Trade and attempt getting 18k from my car. The porsche KBB is about 5k more than what I would "attempt" to get out of my car.
Here are some pictures of my car, and specs along with a few of the porsche.

And here are a couple of the porsche 964 (It has been checked over and is mechanically and physically sound, no issues.
It has a few updates like headers and exhaust I believe, but other than that, future mods would be coilovers, bbs wheels, alcantera interior, etc bringing it simliar to these...
Thanks for the input guys

And the poll isnt to make up my mind, its to ask for porsche enthusiast opinions on if its a good trade or not.

I agree that would be the best route, however if I can get 18k for my car, I will be putting 5k with it for a coupe with high mileage if im lucky. But if I sell the cab, I would break even with buying a coupe

I wouldn't do it. Unless it's a long term purchase where the Porsche will keep its value or increase a little, versus he BMW losing value. From a driver standpoint, your car is better.

Thanks for all the comments guys, I appreciate the input.
I believe I will be making the trade, If anything, I am considering just turning the car and picking up a 996, or a 964 turbo after 6 months.
