Porsche ceramic composite brakes
Hi guys, as I understand the earlier PCCB have lots of problem like cracking & so forth. I wonder if the new generation of PCCB fitted to the 991 models still have these problems.
Cheers mate!

That is what I gather. The 1st Gen PCCB have lots of problem & I believe we are on to the 3rd Gen PCCB fitted to the 991 model now have lesser problem or no problem at all. Thank you.

I had PCCB on my 05 launch 997S car . They were amazing . By not getting them on the next 5 Porsches (two 07 cars , 1 09 car , 13 Boxster, 12 Cayenne) I saved 50K .
That's a lot of savings but if price is no limit I'd say get them !!!

The interesting thing will be to see at what point do they become as originally advertised and work well on the track while giving extended life. If people remember they originally were marketed that they would last longer and be better for track use. But then people took them on track and thats when cracking became so prevelant. Hopefully next gen PCCB will be great even for track use.

+1. PCCB is big plus if you can swing it. and not having brake dust on your wheels is a big advantage.

Generation II PCCB's are great & Porsche makes P50 pads specific for track use of PCCB's
If going to track car regularly, have to inspect & care for them properly just like you would with any other brakes.

For a street car, they are great. However, they are probably overkill. The standard brakes are fine. Not sure it's worth almost $10k to have less brake dust.
I would not order them for a track car. They may last longer, but the replacement cost is crazy. Most serious track junkies remove the ceramic rotors and use steel instead, saving the rotors for resale. Not sure that's worth it either.
So, unless I had a sponsor buying replacements, I would not order them.

I had them on a 997S launch edition and 2 997 Turbos. Presently have them on my GT2 & my Cayenne Turbo. I would not order a Porsche without them. I do not track my cars & have never had a problem. Just be very careful if removing wheels as easily chipped.
