Might be but it might be an artifact of the cold start. I noticed the heavy black exhaust on other cold start videos I made. It might also be the ECU overcompensating for a lot better airflow due to the new plenum? I will keep my eyes peeled for any accumulation of soot on the back of the car. To date there hasn't been any soot accumulation.

It was fun, I had my younger son doing the camera work and then I just spliced together the best pieces. I wanted to know how the car sounds from the external perspective too and I am impressed, it's mean and it screams when it's coming at you.

I have #3 on the exhaust and I added the Brombacher headers, IPD Plenum and FVD piggyback tuning module.

Cool DFI engine

Your car sounds awesome & is quite loud, I'm sure you're enjoying the sound & feel of lightning acceleration!

These new direct fuel injection engines don't seem to run as "clean" as the 3.6 Mezger engines. Only once in a while would my 997.1 & some friends notice a bit of a "smoke" on start-ups. Both 3.8's in my garage have much more smoke & carbon residue on the tailpipes compared to the 3.6.

Thank you. What do you mean with: Brombacher headers + IPD Plenum

I also added those to my car. The headers are from FVD and they call them Brombacher, I think they have added a throatier sound to the exhaust. It was sharper before I added them. The IPD plenum is just the intake spliter.

Here are the parts I added from the vendor site. I forgot to take pictures when I was at the shop but Jason is going to send me his pictures from the job and I will post all that in a separate thread.

Here are the parts I replaced.
