Here is our customer David racing his 991 Turbo at the 1/2 mile event in Georgia a week or so ago. He ran a 154 againsts a Turbo S with some mods that ran a 151. His car is equipped with the VRTuned Tuning Box, Agency Power Exhaust, IPD Plenum. Enjoy and comment away.

 

This begs the question:

What are the differences between Turbo and Turbo S once tuned? Can they reach the same level of performance?

 

Good question and much like the 997 Turbo and Turbo S, yes they both reach the same max power. Thanks to Dan and the Vivid team for their guidance on my 991 Turbo tune. The VR Tuning Box made a HUGE difference and what a bang for the buck! Headers, cats , x-pipe , and intake plenum really open the turbos.l think I like the snap, crackle , pop as much as the power gains. Previously had a stock 997.2 Turbo S...save your money and tune a stock Turbo !! Just to clarify I'm in the white one above.

The mph of those 991's are low... Stock TTS in our 1/2 mile event did 155mph

 

The airport is over 2700 feet above sea level. That hurts times as compared to sea level.

The TTS in the Wannagofast event that day ran consistent 135's which sounds about right for a car that is 0-60 in 4.5 sec. Sea level won't make a 20 mph difference. Go to the Wannagofast website and click on event results to see all. My 154.85 was faster than both the Maclaren and Lambo Huracan that day.

 

Sorry but 135mph for a 991 Turbo in a 1/2 mile is very low, typo???

 

Yes should be 155. With a better DA 160s are possible.

 

Oh ok... Stock Mc Laren 12C run 157, Stock Huracan 156, Stock TTS 155, my C7 Z06 Intake 151 in our 1/2 Mile Event... November 14 is our next event. Will see how GIAC vs COOB will do

 

Misunderstood your TTS (Audi). The black 991 in the video is a 2014 Turbo S. We made four runs and his were all in the 151 range. We'll all be at Jumbolair in Ocala, Fl in January and everyone's times should improve.
