Roll Call: Who is Going to Wannagofast in Ocala on Jan 23-24??

[QUOTE=svoshop;4462359]
My wife is about 115lb.
But I ran the car and trapped 158.XX and I am 210.
I really do not think 100 lbs is going to make a difference.
The car did have a full tank of fuel
And I was running 38lbs in the back tires.
The reality is, that if I knew this was going to be a grudge match, I would have paid more attention to her car.
We had traction issues like crazy. I launched the car with TC off, even doing a spin to clean the tires, and it spun so bad it short shifted to second at 10 mph. Ran just under 158 that pass. I really think the car could have matched the GIAC car, if we had a little more seat time.
But if I am honest, we were in Lambo mode, testing out that new build. At the next event, we will dedicate some more to the 911 and see if we can get it to 165 with only minor upgrades.
The car is strong. With some custom tuning, some high octane fuel, and a few more by design parts, we will get there
Mike
Hey Mike your Lambo focus is a nice problem to have!
Im sure based on your track record, the new attention to the TT and future additions will be epic.

In the video you sent me I saw tire smoke and then the car just choked. There are so many little things we will share and get you dialed in especially if you wanted some mo powa! I think this car will be a blast for your wife and you will just have to enjoy it once in a while ha ha!

Not petite. lol
My car has three performance mods: GIAC Stage 2+ tune, catless exhaust and Champion Intercoolers -- no yada yada there. In our head to head race mine trapped more than 3 mph faster. Not putting the cover on the car quite yet Lol
But her trapping 160 mph is impressive. The car ran well and she is petite which took all important weight out of the car.[/QUOTE
If she is petite, what are you

38 lbs rear is too much. We tried various pressures and got our best results at 26 lbs in the rear.
On Sunday at the time of the race we had about a half tank of fuel. So that erased or more than erased the fact that your wife is 25 lbs lighter than my driver
There was no grudge match. I post all my 991 turbo races regardless of how they turn out. I posted on my YouTube channel a race with John Morgan's Cobb stage 2 991 TT where he crossed the quarter mile line ahead of my car (my car has faster trap and lower ET but he killed me on the reaction time). And we were not expecting to race your wife which is why we lined up two lanes to the left.
We also struggled with traction both days. We tried about 5 different tire pressures. Tried launches with traction control off and on. Tried launches with PDCC switched on and off. Tried standing on the launch control or barely touching it. Tried standing starts and light rolling starts and spun tires on both.
Your car is strong. You will need intercoolers for sure to have a shot at 165 in Ocala

My point was that most here seem only to put up videos where they win. I put up everything. I was really surprised at the tone of the posts you some of the Cobb folks (not Cobb itself or Sambo) I received in return for posting the Wannagofast video. Nonetheless I will keep posting all my 991 race videos regardless of the outcome and keep disclosing what mods each car had so members and potential buyers of the mods can see them in action.

It shifted into second and started from there... haha
You know I will be calling you... Just this time, it will be more than a week before the race

So the videos don't really show the other cars at all from that day. I fixed that on the second day by moving the cameras to the car's left side but only kept the cameras up for half a day as the second half of the day we took down cameras and put in a much lighter driver than me in search of finding the car's highest trap speed.
I have no GoPro video of my car racing the Cobb stage 2 car because it was an unplanned race.
If it were planned my cameras would've been on. I took a video of that race from the starting line because I wasn't driving. When I wasn't driving (most of Sunday afternoon) I took videos of all my car's races from the starting line.
Honestly this event was dominated by American muscle with a smattering of some GTR's (including at least 2 Alpha 16s, a Switzer Goliath X which broke its differential on its first run and the Switzer War Machine) and seriously upgraded Lambos (UGR and Heffner).
There weren't that many other Porsches (and no other 991 Turbo S), McLarens (I believe there was one 650s) or other exotics. The one stock Lamborghini I saw it was a Huracan on Saturday which only trapped at 153. There was one Ferrari in the whole event (my friend's 458 which trapped at 150). This is why I wish I could do Shift Sector exotics which would be much more interesting to me.

I was there on Saturday. Too bad we didn't meet earlier. I'm a Florida boy and we were freezing so I didn't spend much time outside of the car.
My friend and I ran the car (6mt) 7 times that day. Ran on pump gas, luggage still in the front trunk, and rolling starts (still spinning in 1st and a little in 2nd).
Our last 4 traps were 159, 160, 158, 158. - Sport Cup tires. - Seems like it would've been a good race.
My best trap last year was 156 - only difference was Super Sports tires.
I will be there again next year and doubt I'll change the setup. Maybe I'll run on race gas, turn up the boost, launch the car and try to keep up with you (if you upgrade turbos). 911 Turbos (997 / 991) with PDK are ridiculous for so few mods.

You have a AMS Alpha 9 and you trapped 160mph?
What octane fuel were you running?
Am I missing something?

The official Wannagofast results are now in and my GIAC Stage 2+'s fastest run was 3.4101 mph faster than the awesome Cobb Stage 2's best run -- 161.6379 mph to 158.2278. Here are the results from Sunday -- the faster of the two days where both cars posted their best runs:
http://www.wannagofast.com/event-tim...016sun_fin.htm
This 3 mph delta was consistent with the 3 mph delta in our one (unplanned) head to head race:
I felt the need to clarify because my friend Webcarconnection (who is a super great guy in person whom I look forward to seeing again at another event) had posted here that he saw the Cobb car do a 160 mph run -- which would
Only be 1 mph faster than my much more extensively modded car.
The report of only a 1 mph difference, of course, Caused some members running the Cobb tune to make some comments drawing rather unflattering conclusions about the GiAC tune that, as it turns out, are not supported by the event's results.
People make buying decisions based on this stuff and I felt the need to correct this incorrect -- but I am sure well intentioned -- report.
I was shocked by the report by Webcar that the Cobb Stage 2 car ran 160 mph which would only be 1 mph faster than mine. Moreover the traps I saw from that car were in the 157-158 range.
I actuality, the 3.4101 mph difference between my car and the Cobb Stage 2 car is more in line with what I had expected. 158 mph with almost no Mods is a fantastic result -- some 8 mph higher than, for example, the 2 458 that ran. I don't think a different driver would have driven the Cobb Stage 2 car to a much faster result.
This is not a commentary on whether my car would have been faster than the Cobb/ByDesign Stage 3 with ByDesign intercoolers car. That would have been an apples to apples race. At ShiftSector, the ByDesign Stage 3 car was faster than the GIAC Stage 2+ car In head To head racing but the GIAC Stage 2+ car came
Home with a higher trap speed of the meet (on the better running day -- Sunday).
From what I understand that Cobb Stage 2 car will be back with more extensive mods at future events. Which means it's speed will go way up from what was a strong result with so little mods.
