By Design/Cobb Stage 4 Vs HellCat - 991TT's taking Over Redlist 1/4 Mile Race!

Yep! The same mindset here.
Funny how some experienced racers think alike.
I see/read many threads in here regarding folk running this and that...many of them are the vendor cronies...you know who you are - comparing runs such as 10.33 vs. 10.35 tuned by this vendor or that vendor with these mods and blah blah blah...all it does is start keyboard fighting cronies. Usually, it stems from the folks. The s&%t makes me laugh.
I'm with you WhiteTT and KAWilson...my mindset is 9's or bust which is not easy to do no matter the platform. But here is my thinking/approach: I want to run 10.0's on stock P-tires, no meth, no race gas and stock turbos. Some of my local buddies think I'm crazy, but others are on board. I think it is possible with this 2016 TTS P-car.
However, I will need to choose my mods carefully...too many mods may produce great HP/TQ increases, but may be a waste if I can't hook on street tires, especially on the streets. I don't want to see myself needing to brake torque off the line (NO LC) because otherwise I will blow off the tires...tire spinning is no bueno for quick 1/8 and/or 1/4 ET's. In other words, sometimes less is more. Having more juice is great for those 1/2 mile - 1 mile events where the need to really hit out of the hole as hard as you can is not as essential. I am more of a drag racer.
I think those of you who are real drag-racers know what I mean and where I am coming from.
Thanks,
E-Gear

I gotta lean towards E Gear as there is still alot left on the table in a drag dedicated suspension for dead hook weight transfer, Cobb AP and optimized fueling. In other words E Gear is on a mission .... Doing the unthinkable! Much respect!

Any Idea what somebodys run with these mods and P-Zero's? I think around 10.35 or so.

I didn't see the tires part. I do believe better tires will be necessary. On the other hand I agree E Gear is experienced and on a mission so if there's a new record to be set a guy like E Gear will get it done with the right set up! Good luck bud!

Yeah I think to E Gears point.... Do it differently. If E were looking to go for a goal its highly plausable to fit 18s on DRs with a suspension set up to dead hook point is think outside the box. Can possibly be done in a track focused effort. Ive seen focused approach cars with less HP do 10s.

He wasn't trying
It was a manual
He left it in "D" and hoped it would downshift in time.
He lost traction.
A properly driven 8A Hellcat would obliterate an E92 M3 from a 40mph roll. Its an upper 120mph car multiple levels above a stock E92 M3.

The guy that focuses on dropping every 1/10th will beat the guy looking for big reductions simply by adding more HP every time once the HP is equal. Why? Because the guy that keeps his car cooler before a run, the guy that swapped to a tire that weighs 8lbs less per wheel, run his fuel down to the bare minimum before CEL light, and took out any extra/un-needed items in the car will have a mechanical advantage worth that .2 seconds and 2mph too.. because he counted those 1/10's
His 9.99 is your 10.19.. and that is what separates racers from enthusiasts

I can guarantee you one of several things:
He wasn't trying
It was a manual
He left it in "D" and hoped it would downshift in time.
He lost traction.

I've never been a big M3 fan, but I recall the "Hmm. Not bad." face I made when I saw the dyno. Something about 600hp-ish or *shrug* there abouts.
Still an M3, but like, a lot faster.

I agree as well, if your not counting every 1/10th, your not a real racer. Even more so when you want to do it without sacrificing the balance of a street car.

Anyway Thanks Mark! Keeping my fingers crossed. Hope to show that if I can get this little 911 with twins in the 9s practically anything is possible! 🏁
