KAW's 991 911 Turbo S Project

Haha re: Titos... I am a fan of scotch and bourbon but not for day drinking or mixing with Red Bull, that's why I brought it to Texas with me.
About the meth... it may end up getting pushed to the backburner, I'm fine with mechanical work but I HATE electrical. Your comments only reinforce my hesitation. And I'm sure I should have done the turbos and intercoolers when I already had it torn apart for the exhaust, I just didn't want to run the risk of it not being ready for Texas. Also, I typically try to do too much, too fast to a car, netting poor or mixed results. So maybe I'm finally learning. I mean I clearly haven't learned enough to just leave the poor car alone, but what fun is that.

Good job girly. Nice to see more and more folks playing with their cars and not just whipping them for car shows.
Anyhoot, I am not sure how much drag racing experience you have, but it sound that you have some. Try maximizing your current stage first before putting out more moolah.
Sometimes less is more. Meaning, more power may be great, but then you'll find yourself needing better tires this and that to avoid spinning what you have...especially with the headache of CL wheels.
If you didn't know already, below is what I shared with another member - it may help you as well. My apologies in advance if these tips are already in your knowledge base:
Lower your tire psi to 30# all around...maybe even 28# in the rear. Do so when tires are COLD, not warm. I found it best to do so at home in the garage, then simply drive to track. When done racing, find air hose (most track have them) and air up your tires (bring air gauge) and drive back home.
Now to the racing part:
*Move driver seat forward; as comfortably as you can. This ensures full pedal mashing upon launch.
*Set back of seat upright; the gangsta lean setting will not help you net the best ET's
*Go around water box
*TURN OFF TC
*At a coupe of feet in front of water box, do a quick throttle stab (brake boost) to clean tires and to get some heat in them
*Try lining car/tires in the stickiest line and creep forward to pre-stage
(I prefer lining up right after big slicks cars...they leave a nice sticky patch)
*Once the two staged light beams come on, initiate LC and leave on the last yellow light.
*SIDE STEP the brake pedal...do not allow left leg to come straight back
*Floor the gas pedal to the floor!
*Both hands on steering wheels - 3 & 9...let car do the shifting and aim straight
*Don't load car with unnecessary junk, and try racing with less than half tank of fuel
*Allow car to cool between runs
*Sometimes I spray my IC (stock or modded IC's) with NOS. I have like 6 bottles of various sizes at home. LOL
That's it! This may net you quicker ET's with your current set up.
Hope this helps
Thanks,
E-Gear

Great meeting you too! Glad you resolved the car issue. After seeing a 997 up close, I kind of wish mine was a little smaller/shorter. Oh well.

I'm currently resisting the urge to have my wheels powdercoated black... Saw them on my buddy's white 991 911 Turbo S in Texas and it looked amazing. But I had the black/black/black on the Audi, so maybe I'll leave this one alone.

Nah, yours is a stunningly beautiful car. Enjoy the hell out of it!

As for drag racing, I've been doing it off and on since I was 17. But a little refresher never hurt, so thanks. I will say we are all completely spoiled nowadays. When I was a kid I used to have to trailer my car to the track and do giant burnouts and only run 12's. Now I just drive there with the AC blasting in the most comfortable car I've ever been in and run low 10's. Crazy.

Yeah this thing is not a show car, it's my daily driver. I've put 5,000 miles on it in 5 weeks, which is just dumb. I need to buy a third car but I'm currently Porsche poor.

Drive your car...why save it for the next person? It's your hard earned money, enjoy it.
BTW, you may already know this: DO NOT race with AC on. LOL In fact, turn off everything!
Yes, technology is a beautiful thing. We can now race, run low 10's or high 9's on stock/semi stock tires, drive to and from track and get 25mpg.
Thanks,

If you did a stage 1 and have cobb, I would add meth. Since your in the Atlanta area, talk with Ron at Vengeance racing as he installed my meth. He is an LS vendor but very honest and they know how to install it. I gained 30hp with meth alone! I will be at all wannagofast events and look forward to meeting you.

Scott - Thanks for sharing the pics. I can't wait to see my buddy's Boost Logic car (that white one) after it gets dialed in. It has everything it needs to run 9's, but tx2k was their first time trying to run it.
918 Spyder - looking forward to meeting you and seeing your car(s). Vengeance would be a good option for me if I decide not to attempt install myself. I've been up to that shop once before, dropping a friend off.

Looking forward to seeing the videos of it wreaking havoc at the track event in Las Vegas.
It was great meeting you. Looking forward to seeing you again soon at a future event.
