Champion Modded 991 Turbo S at Dragstrip

Thanks for the kind words and compliments guys. That video is from one of our test sessions which was in January. Conditions were sort of terrible that night, with temperatures in the mid 40's, so we didn't quite get the results we were looking for. I think I posted about it somewhere at the time.
The car (at that time) was equipped with exhaust, intercoolers, upgraded VTG's in the factory housings, and of course the GIAC software. The car has a 9 second pass in it...it's just a matter of getting to the track on a night with just the right conditions, and it seems we have bad luck with the weather every time we try lol.
As soon as our final VTG's arrive here from Tial (which is long overdue!!), we'll release our turbo upgrade package.

I don't see any times listed in the video, but I ran 10.2 @ 135 MPH in my MP4-12C Coupe and 10.3 @ 137.4 MPH in my 650S Spyder.... both cars were stock
everyone has a bad run here and there, but overall, the 991 isn't "destroying" the McLaren..... unless it's that one running nitrous...
I'll be happy with a 10.4 @ 132+ MPH in a 991 turbo with a tune, hope to find a car soon...
are there any flex fuel tunes? I thought I saw a video of a 991 running a mix of regular gas and E85?

Right now there are no E85 tunes yet in the direct injection 997.2 turbo or 991 turbo. That would require a completely new fueling system I believe.
I have never had a McLaren 12C even get close to me in a race from a dig. But maybe you're a better driver or maybe the AMS tune and drag radials makes a huge difference. Or all three most likely.

that was a different run....
ran 10.1 @ 138 MPH with the AMS tune and drag radials....
http://www.dragtimes.com/McLaren-MP4...lip-27180.html
10.2 @ 135.5 MPH stock (no tune) on R888 tires....
http://www.dragtimes.com/McLaren-MP4...lip-26246.html
10.5 @ 134.5 MPH stock as it came from the factory on original Pirelli tires
http://www.dragtimes.com/McLaren-MP4...lip-25287.html
the 650S did 10.3 @ 137.4 MPH all stock with OEM tires... 0-60 MPH was 2.6 seconds...

thanks for the info on the E85.... sorry for derailing this thread with the McLaren comment!

I see your results on Dragtimes. It says AMS tune and Nitto drag radials. Great results even if not stock.

However, with my current upgrades that are happening now, I suspect that I will run 9.5 without nitrous and with it, very low 9's. Of course, this is all speculation until I get it to the track and tuned..

I'm running the nitrous (9.71@143) and without it, was running 10.1.

Wow - it will be awesome to see similar times in the US that they have been running in the Middle East for a while. Good luck!
Does anyone know the best time they ran on stock turbos? Did they break the 9s with stock turbos or upgraded ones?
Emre has been quiet. I wonderwhat he is up to.

With just a tune, you'd probably see somewhere around 10.4-10.6 second in the 1/4 mile, at somewhere around 128-130mph, depending on whether or not you added a free flowing exhaust at least.
I love McLarens, but it's just a totally different experience driving one or the other. The McLaren is a more "raw" feeling, whereas the Turbo S has a much more refined daily-driver feel. I'm also a lot more comfortable in the Porsche...being sort of tall.

I took it to Shift Sector (1/2 mile dig race) on the same E mix and ran my buddy Nick's McLaren 650. I didn't think it was going to be close at all but Nick was calling me out (in a friendly way) before the event and even went so far as to call my 991 a "primaddonna" lol.
Unfortunately, and this is a big unfortunately...my GoPro battery had died and I couldn't get the carnage on video. Clean start and I left the Mac like it was standing still. Could barely see the Mac when I turned to look to see how far back it was at the finish line. The driver gave it it's all, but the Mac is just no competition in the real world - on the street or runway with a less than optimal surface.
Now on a prepped drag strip surface maybe the Mac will hook up but that's all it's got on us.

Yes I run a mix of E on pump 91 gas on my 991. It has a GIAC tune only.

Its to hard to make up ground when you run out of real estate. At 160/170's it goes by quick!
