Shopping for a 2014 or 2015 TTS. Any advice?

I picked up a 14 with 700 miles on the clock. Sticker was $194. Paid $153.
Was happy with the deal, black on black and the best goodies added.
Car is basically new, paint and interior are perfect.

Are there any differences between the 14's and the 15's turbo S?? Been looking for a couple weeks now and it seems that the prices are dropping on a weekly basis, great for buyers but is there any real reason for it other then the 991.2's coming out now??

The 16s have telematics (Porsche Car Connect) so those are a meaningful upgrade over the 14/15.

The 2016 991 Turbo /TURBO S Have already landed I was at supercar sunday and ran into someone that got the 1st or second one in LA he had sold his 2015 about 2 months ago to get the 2016 . He said the 2016 is a whole different car and it drives much much better .
So if you have the funds available just go for a new 2017 and order it in the color combo you really want . So what if you have to wait an extra couple or few months especially if it means you can get paint to sample and have a unique car that you can enjoy . Best of luck on what which ever car you choose
A quick search on ebay and i found this for you I do not know anything about this car nor am i affiliated in any way

here is a brand new 2017 loaded in my favorite color Miami Blue MSRP $210,270

Your challenge is finding the right buyer, and with that buyer you probably have some leverage. I just went through this selling my BMW M5. Took 6 months but I got a good price.

I buy and sell cars for fun and profit. I usually buy one in the fall and sell in the spring (convertible) and buy one in the spring and sell it in the fall (SUV).
Having the patience to get the timing right and finding a buyer that emotionally identifies with the vehicle makes the whole price thing far more in your favor. I would plan on 4-6 months to sell a 991 Turbo/Turbo S, even though your timing (the spring) is pretty good, it's better timing for drop-tops.

Just an fyi on MMR; "below" is really not a true denotation of condition but instead about the price. For instance you will never see an MMR sale with a "below" having a price above an "average" even if the "below" car was in better condition. I have seen this first hand where two equal cars via condition ran but since one sold for more it got the "above" stamp vs the other which got the "average". I have seen some of the cleanest well equipped cars sell in the wrong time and market and because they got lower pricing they were deemed "average". The weird things Manheim does.

The last thing I should do is sell now, so I'm asking totally out of curiosity, but it seemed like retail prices for 14's were 155-165 this time last year.

Sorry for amateur hour over here, but these are wholesale auction prices, correct? If one wanted to discern private party value, then another $10k on top of that might be warranted?

Yes they are indeed auction prices which could be considered wholesale or even higher depending on the market and demand or less for the same reasons. These cars are pre recon, pre transport, pre fee cars, etc so the costs are bare bones that are shown. Generally wholesalers will undercut auction prices on higherline units so they can move them at the auction for some profit. I don't know the exact private party translation as a motivated seller might blow their car out but there is definitely a bump over these prices.

That's what happens when you add a year's depreciation and factor in some addition for retail over wholesale. Also consider that the 14 was in relatively short supply and initially often sold close to sticker. Some 15s were sold as leftovers recently as much as 15% off sticker.
