Shopping for a 2014 or 2015 TTS. Any advice? PURCHASE COMPLETE

I'm shopping for a used 2014 or 2015 TTS Coupe. Does anyone have any advice on:

1) Things to watch out for?

2) Pricing?

3) At what mileage I need to worry about replacing things like brake pads, brake disks, and anything else other than tires/wipers/oil? I have usually always bought new and sold before 10-12k miles so I am not used to paying for replacing wear and tear parts.

Pretty reliable cars. IMO you will pay a heck of a lot less than what you lost on original owner hit you take on new.

What he said. You can't buy a CPO on your own and frankly don't care for after market warranties much. Do a nationwide search, I used Cars.com when I looked for mine then got the help of a member from here.
Good luck!

Wish I had input on this but it's more of a question to the 991 Turbo owners. Seems everyone goes for TTS and not many for the TT, they are both mechanically equally capeable. Any main reason other than the obvious?

Just watch out for a tracked one with PCCB's. Those rotors are $20k to replace. If you don't already, learn what signs to look for a car that was driven on the roads vs track.

Definitely a good inspection from a dealership and check the history just in case. These cars are pretty amazing. If the PCCB's are not critical to you you can get a non-S and do really well with the car as far as enjoying it or upgrading it. You can get it to the same place. Check several out so you don't kick yourself as far as colors and options down the line. Warranty can be good and sometimes useless. If anything try for CPO factory warranty or the most reputable aftermarket or of course a good history car at a good price with no warranty. A few members here are selling theirs. PMNewton for example.

Good luck!

Thanks for the tip. What are the signs of a car that has been tracked? Can a tracked car be CPOd by a dealer?

To me there are a few reasons:

1) In the used market the TTS and TT are not far apart in price because the TTS much depreciates faster than the TT.

2) TTS models have more hp, standard PDCC, LED lights, sport chrono and carbon ceramic brakes. So if you like those features then you may find a used TTS is the most practical way to find a car with those features. A lot of TTs don't have LED lights, PCCBs or PDCC (some do).

I think the ideal buyer of a TT is someone who plans to tune everything about the car. Since the TTS is a tuned TT, if you are doing your own tuning, why spend $40k extra on the TTS for things you don't need.

TTS was worth it for me because of PCCB, PDCC, Sport Chrono, 18 way seats, etc. I bought used so was about 10K Delta and wanted all of those options.

Patrick has about as nice a turbo 991 that $ can buy, as well a few costly upgrades. The sticker on that car was ~ turbo S $. Not sure if it's still for sale, there was a post a week or so ago. It's got pretty much as many options as you'd ever want

Here's the post. It's a very nice car with all the stuff an S has & no PCCB's to be concerned about.

I found a white/two-tone red Turbo S Coupe with CPO, 195 msrp. 4600 miles. They are asking $148,700.

What would be a fair deal on this one?

2014 or 2015? I'd guess $140k depending on condition for a 2014.
