Arnie is right a stock 991.1 runs about 150 in the 1/2 mile.

But a .2 seems to do quite a bit better.

Don't think this will be the case in real world situations. Time will tell.

No offense but a zero slope run on pump gas in a positive DA completely stock with GPS data is real world .And I'm talking .1 vs .2 Turbo S not vs the 488 lol.

A 488 has almost 100 more HP than a .2 it will kill it from a roll . A dig race will depend on launch then the 488 will pull hard up top. I would expect 488 to be in the 160's in the 1/2 mile if driven correctly. In one test it did a 10.2 @ 137mph in the 1/4 mile. Will be very interested in a 488 customer cars weight and acc data.

Absolutely no offense taken. I attend these events often and as Mark said, I've really never seen a stock TTS trap more that 150. Personally, I don't have any axe to grind. When I race stock 991-1 TTS's, I have trouble seeing them in my mirror at the end of the track. And considering I'm running almost 100hp more, this should be no surprise.

Obviously every track and weather conditions are totally different and will effect the outcome. I think you can only compare notes from the same event on the same day, and maybe even within the same hour to get accurate comaparisons.

Now that I own both a tuned 991-1 and 488gtb, I will video the results of how they compare. I will also go to the next half mile event and see how they both trap and race anything that's totally stock with the 488. I'm hoping that we get a 991-2 TTS, 650s, Aventador, Huracan, Viper, Z06, F12, etc... My TTS has beaten most of those cars already. Should be fun

I totally agree , low 150's is the highest I've seen for a .1 . The data I've gotten on my .2 suggests it's quite a bit stronger up top 10.49@131 mph in the 1/4 , 7.5 60-130 mph zero slope and 158 mph 1/2mile is strong for a stock car . On the same road same conditions it's faster than my FBO tuned M6 was .

Kiketech (formerly know as webcarconnection) does events in PR which are a bit longer than a half mile for a stock 991.1 to hit 157. Or else the 991.1 is tuned.

Arnie, I could be coerced into driving one of your beast if need be, if you need an extra driver at the next shift sector. I'm just throwing it out there

Having owned a FBO 997.2 with the GIAC 9 second tune, then a 2016 991.1 TS, and now a 991.2 TS and all within the last 60 days, my butt dyno agrees with you. The net sum of improvements is greater than the 20hp difference on paper. My .2 feels much quicker than my 991.1 and pretty close to my 997.2 with tune and FBO. In fact it "feels" as fast as my 997.2 did when I ran straight pump gas and the pump gas tune. With race fuel and the race tune map, the 997.2 felt like an angry beast. My max mph at Atco with race fuel in my 997.2 was 133mph for reference. I have never run meth.

Look at two 488 here
I think it's kinda funny how ALL the cars on that list have turbo motors. Shows the potential.

I am surprised by that video, but the 488 is no doubt faster. Here's a test sheet from a C&D test with the 458, GT2 RS, and Mclaren Mp4-12c.

It was from 2011, but the 458 trapped 131. Magazine tests have not had a Turbo S trapping in the 130s. So I wouldn't be surprised to see a 488 trap 138+.

Off the line, though, it's tough to see a Turbo losing that badly since it can out-accelerate a Veyron to 30mph. So I think the driver or car took a crap.

See the test results here.

I raced him at the last event and we we're neck and neck. I think he got be by a nose. What doesn't make sense is at the previous event I beat him by 15 car length. (I have the video to prove it) My trap speeds were the same at both events. I'm suspicious that he may have added a tune. Nothing else makes sence.

How is it that we have allowed the OP to still be on this forums with out a video of his 991 vs his 488?!

You have the privilege of having two beautiful machines and not run them on vid yet!!

Such atrocities should not take place on this forums!

I recommend he post a vid or ban!
