I had no idea I'd be building a working, shifter-driven transmission. I'm really stunned that they fit this system in here. I totally understand why they'd be disappointed covering this up.

$299 would be *amazing*. I paid $500 at the Lego store, but a week ago no one had one in stock online.

Through page 200 and the first of 5 sub-sections. It really is amazing how much really cool workings get covered up by other Legos. Every part of the car works. The PDK is amazing.

Awesome - thanks! (and thanks achenator- lots of great stuff on Youtube). So it's a bit of a commitment then. Wonder if the Lego.com will get anymore at $299...

Confused. My wife picked up my birthday present at our Lego store at the mall and it was $299.99 just like online. Did you get it from an Actual Lego Store or just another toy store that also sells Legos?

An actual lego store. Hey, maybe you got a special deal. You've also got a 350R coming, so you apparently have SOME special powers

Well I caved. I went by our local Lego store and picked one up- $299. I would call/visit your Lego store- maybe you can get $200 back!

Side note- watch out for counterfeits if you're shopping online (i.e. eBay or Amazon). If it's less than $200 you can bet your butt it's a knock off.

Thanks for the reminder. Forgot to update my sig. As the next guy also got it for $299.99 at the Lego store, I would double check that an employee didn't play any shenanigans.
