The roofline looks great and so does the power. Not sure about the front end, but like all Porsches, it'll grow on me

Why are today's sports cars getting sooo big? This may have been discussed but the 991 looks way longer than the 997

Actually 2.2in longer, with 3.9in longer wheelbase (making the front/rear overhangs shorter).

2.2in may not sound like much, but it's all in the eye of the individual. Without having seen one in person, the 991 definitely looks larger...

The 991 is 176.81" long while the 997 is 175.63" so the 991 is only 1.18" longer

Not sure where you're getting your info, but it's wrong per Porsche. Go to the Porsche website and do a Compare Models: I took a screen capture...the 991 stats are on the left, 997 GTS on the right...

Of course, I got the info from Porsche website. Both 997 Carrera and Carrera S are 175.63" long. So when compare to the 991 they are 1.18" shorter.

However, also check the 997 GTS and wonder to see that the GTS is slightly shorter than the 997 Carrera???

I was wondering the same thing, on porsche configurator it mentions a different front lip when ordering pasm and sports suspension, the picture provided ( on the website) is too small for me to see the difference.

A few pictures from our day with the car. It's hard not to regret that it took Porsche so long to achieve such great handling and part with the idiosyncrasies of 911 handling.
The weight trend is concerning, our test car came in at 3348 lbs, far more than claimed, and heavier than the 997.2.
