I like the direction that Porsche is going with the new model. Being wider and longer with lower weight has got to be better for handling characteristics. I hope the interior is wider as well.

Overall, a much more "exotic" proportions compared to the 996/997 body.

I'm liking this. Good power/torque bump for base Carrera versions too. We'll see how much MSRP goes up. IMO it shouldn't go up 1 cent.

Ok just got off the phone with dealer regarding some part I am looking for and he/they gave me some info regarding the 991.

No big surprises here:

1) Pictures and specs will be released end of the year - 4 inches longer and slightly wider (1 -.5 inches).
2) Will not be arriving into Canada (Base / S / Coupe Cab) until Late Winter / Spring 2012.
3) The 4S & Targas/Cabs will most likely be 2013 models.
4) Right now they believe that Porsche will continue to make certain 997 models well into the production range of the 991 - more info coming in the summer.

Later..

Joe

Question - you said they will release details at the end of the year, which year? 2010 or 2011?

Thanks.

He probably meant end of this year, since at the end of 2011(and earlier for Europe) the actual cars should be arriving.

I like the rims! Not too sure about the longer rear end.....wide is fine, not long.

read my mind - but I don't see that look in the spy shots - which is really all we know - the rest is speculation.

What ever it is.. It will grow on us

I personally love the 997.2, but I even loved the 997.1 when it came out..
So 991?
Let me see it first..

Oh and found this video of 991 + New Boxster Convoy:
