Even though I think the kit looks good, I dont think that a ducktail should be available on the carrera and carrera S. IMO an iconic feature like the porsche ducktail should be reserved for more a more special model or edition (dont get me wrong I also HATE the fact that porsche keeps bringing out newer and better stuff, JUST as you take delivery!!).
I think it sort of 'dilutes' the cult of the ducktail. This aero kit is definitely going to be WAY more popular than the old ones were, thats for sure! Which in a way ruins the standard 911 game, because all the carreras will now look like sport classics...and not like carreras!
Another interesting question is.... is this what the GT3 will look like? We all know the aero kit is for those who intend to have a GT3 look on their carrera!
Last but not least, I think it is totally ridiculous to have yet another optional wing on top of the already optional ducktail! So silly, this in itself, ruins the ducktail spoiler.
All in all I think it looks great, but porsche has messed with their traditions a bit...

I have to say, I absolutely LOVE it! I was one of those people who was cringing when I first saw the 991 pix when the car was minimally disguised. I hated how the rear was integrated, but I have to say they pulled it off and contrary to what some people are saying, I think the Ducktail fits very well and looks right at home on this car. Let's face it, the original Ducktail'd '73 Carrera RS was amazing, but the first time you saw one, didn't you think the ducktail looked a bit strange and odd? I know I did. But like many things, the taste was acquired and then I began to think early cars looked strange WITHOUT one You can look to my avatar to know how I feel about Ducktails. I really like this, I really didn't think I would, but it looks right at home on the 991. The ONLY thing that looks odd to me about the 991 now, is how the front LED/Turn signals are integrated into the front bumper. That one could have been a cleaner design in my eyes. But I can overlook that because the rest of the front end looks great!
I wonder how many people are going to take off the Porsche lettering or the model designation lettering. The rear end looks a bit like a book with all of that lettering and model designation added to it.

Does this look better in person
[QUOTE=catchmyshadow;3316934]from a different angle:
The more I look at this, the more I think it look very interesting. A little odd from a few angle. You saw this in person, did it look better when you were therew? Maybe 911 is not photogenic in general?

[QUOTE=mdc;3319198]I think this is the major problem with 911s. They just don't smile pretty in pictures. But in real life...va va va va voom!
