discounts on new 991

Am I unrealistic to expect even a small token 5% discount on the 991? I did get 5% off my 997.2 when I placed the order in June 08'. If anyone knows of a dealer willing to deal please post. I refuse to pay MSRP on principal alone.

I suspect the only discounts at launch will be reserved for those customers that purchase 2-3 cars a year from the dealer (and they do exist). Depending on supply, will have to wait several months for any reasonable discount.

We got our P2S 6 months after launch with a $5K discount, which isn't much for a $110K car.

My local dealer called me this monday said the price from the car configurator could be higher than the actual lunch price. Since local specification is not confirmed yet. Usually, some options we see from the configurator will including in the local specification as standard. Let's wait and see.

Many years ago, I asked a Porsche salesman if I can get any discount on a 911, or if they have any good financing. He said I should probably look into GM(I can’t remember the specific brand he told me). I left and placed an order on an R8 the same afternoon. I still don’t get it...
