991 console

Contrary to many on the 997 board, I like the overall look of the interior, despite the fact that it looks more luxurious than a more traditional 911. However, the console has a lot of black plastic, and in building out a 991 on the Porsche website, I'm not finding aluminum look, paint, or wood options for the console surface. Am I missing something? It's too much black plastic for my taste.

but it is Porsche’s plastic... they cost more than the same plastic in VW. options are coming, I am sure of it.

Gamo is infamous around these parts
I think he means the big black cheap plastic in the center of the lower console. I have the same concern as well. I hope it can be covered with Alu or Carbon Fibre.

Yup. I'm talking about the lower console. Lots of black plastic. In the Panamera they have all kinds of wood options, but so far, no options for the 991 that I could find. I don't think it looks so nice in a car of this price or calibre.

Also, there's places for A LOT of button on that console. One thing that makes a car look cheap or like the owner cheaped out, is having a ton of open blanks where buttons would normally go. On the 997 they were pretty well hidden if you didn't have a heavily optioned car. Here they make you look like you're a cheapskate! Look at all those blanks in the pic that you posted. Spend 80k or more and it looks like you cheaped out and didn't get a well optioned car. I hate that!

+1 on all above, it was the first thing I noticed when I stepped in the 991. You really want to have the trim between the button rows in aluminium or leather.
Maybe they'll create an extra option which removes some of the blank buttons
