LA Auto Show Pics of the 991
#16
Stopped by the LA Autoshow today - snapped some photos of the 991 S
Just my opinion - I acknowledge it is a fine machine, and totally get why some ppl like it.
For my tastes though, am very glad I bought now to stay with 997.2 - knowing photos don't always capture how you might take to a car, I wanted to see it in person, but it still strikes me as too much blended Panamera - 911. Especially the interior with new sloping up center console.

I agree, it's a an amazing machine, but i didn't fall in love with the design. The camera does not capture the angles/curves correctly. Mind you, I'm not a 911 owner, but I was surprised to see a difference from the photos to the real thing. Maybe it was just the angle it sat on the platform, but I didn't like it as much as i thought i would. It looks short and a bit fat around the rear window. (sorry, it's difficult to describe) I'll post pics of the underside shortly.
FYI, the wing on the cayman R looked like a cheap aftermarket piece.

Since I haven't seen the 991 in person, I comment on the 991. However, I agree with you on the Cayman R rear wing. It doesn't look like a cheap aftermarket part. They should have went with a GT3 style rear end.
