Yes, independent test had the new 991 lap Hockenheim at the same time, 1,10.4 as the GT3. Only .04 slower than the GT3 on the Nordschleife. Incredible car with over 40k Euro in options - PCCBs, 20mm lower sport suspension, "active suspension control" and riding on 20s with Pirelli P Zeros. Pretty incredible.
Also interesting to note that Sportauto measures the castor and camber. Front and rear running more than stock specs in camber with the rear over -2 deg.

Yes, i read the sport auto "super test" of the 991 CS (12/2011 issue). I also saved the 997 CS super test from 20008 (8/2008 issue). The performance of the 991 is superior to that of the 997 despite the fact that it was 47 kg (103 lb.) heavier. More about that below.
991 997
laptime Nordschleife (same driver) 7.44 min 7.50 min
top speed Doetiinger Hoehe 270 km/h 262 km/h
laptime Hockenheim 1.10.4 min 1.13.4 min
The 991 was 103 lb. heavier because it was equipped with all performance options plus lots of heavy baubles whereas the 997 had all the performance options but no baubles.
The 991 had sport exhaust, PCCB, PDK, PDCC, sport chrono plus, PASM sport suspension, electric sport plus seats with seat heaters and fans, rear-window wiper, Bose sound system, electrically foldable outside rear mirrors, dynamic headlights. It also had "Sport Techno" wheels with wider rear wheels (11.5" vs 11) and tires (305 vis. 295). This wheel/tire package is not listed on the U.S. configurator. Tires were Pirelli P Zero specially developed for the car.
The 997 had PDK, PCCB, sport bucket seats, sport chrono plus, dynamic headlights. Tires were Michelin Pilot Sport Cup (235 front 305 rear. Rear on 11' rims).
Among other things this goes to show how much weight penalty is associated with luxury equipment. The basic 991 is 100 lb. lighter than the 997, according to Porsche. This one was 1003 lb. heavier, a 203 lb. weight penalty. Those electric seats and that Bose system do contribute to weight.

Right, I only just got my issue - US delivery, not Germany! Cool things already noted - the GT3 was in sport cup tires and the 991 may have been on the special P Zeroes, but it was also on 20" wheels.
