Here is a guaranteed Platinum silver - I took these pictures. One is a wreck But both are platinum and they look painfully champagne to me. Not Retro-vintage proper silver..

The last thing I want are those warm yellow undertones that make it look like a Champagne Lexus...ack.

pictures, videos don`t really help because of the artificial light and different camera caracteristics.
there is only one way to solve the problem and that is to check a platinum silver 991 out in real, natural conditions (sunlight, clouds etc.)

I agree - Guess I won't be ordering until serious inventory is on the lot - i.e. months.

I saw a GT Silver GT3 and those platinum outdoors and still can't make up my mind. Maybe I'll do black

Hi Eric,

My last car was GT silver-The color looks very different in different light conditions. Looks amazing when the sun hits it directly but a little lifeless in overcast conditions. Unless your in a very sunny climate I would suggest Platinum.

I am finalizing options for my C2S cab and I am confident with Platinum silver. My buddy just picked up his Platinum cayman and it looks great in the majority of lighting conditions. Its a great color especially with the black leather interior.

Color is so personal but I think Platinum looks great most of the time unlike my previous GT silver C2S cab.

Platinum silver looks darker than GT silver in various lighting conditions. I had a few brilliant silver mercedes and Arctic silver Porsche which I kept over 10 years. Silver color fades to a dull darker silver hue over the years despite weekly wash and monthly wax regime. I think GT silver will look newer and shinier over the years. Platinum silver will probably look as if the silver paint has aged over the years despite the car being new.

Silver paint tends to turn darker as the paint age over the years. If you do not plan to keep the car beyond 5 years and keep the car garaged at all time. There should be nothing to worry about.

If I were to place an order for a brand new 991, GT silver would be my vote.
