Congratulations on being first in line..
That's kinda funny actually.. I tried to get on the list at two different local dealers and they wouldn't take my money.

My dealer let me put a deposit down for the first allocation slot about a year ago. I know performance-wise the 991TT will be in a different league, but I'm happy with the 2012 Vantage S I picked up last month. Plus, I'm not sure I will be able to convince my wife we need two sports cars (although the 991TT is more of a GT car, right? 
).

Mmmmm well some are better of doing that...
Others have plenty of $$ in their "pockets" to just play with.

I know performance-wise the 991TT will be in a different league, but I'm happy with the 2012 Vantage S I picked up last month. ).The Vantage is a great looking car but the 991TT will be a muzzafreakin` rocket, literally.
and yeah, you could convince her with the 2 additional seats in the back, definitely a GT.

No announcement date on the Turbos yet. My intuition is that it will be sooner than later (best guess summer 2012) given that it's the highest margin 911.
I'd much sooner put down a pre-announcement deposit on a naturally aspirated 991 (4S, Targa, GT3, etc). I'd love to own a Turbo -- when they do a better job at eliminating turbo lag. I've never driven one that's had an aftermarket tune but from what I've read, the tuners have done a great job solving that problem, which gives me hope that Porsche might fix it themselves with the 991. But at $150k+, I'm not playing guessing games (and not planning on modding the ECU on a brand new 911).
