maybe I dont have the correct name for them but they are on all our p.cars in north america unless you have a euro bumper

ahh - sorry - it's Canadian DOT thing then. We'll probably get them in the US when we get socialized healthcare.

i imagine they will put them on the canadian 991 rear bumper aswell unless they beefed up the crash bumper 5mph higher to meet NA standards

I could be wrong, as I said before I dont know much about these new 991's
Id love to know if they are going to have them, euro bumpers look 10 times better than our in my personal opinion.

Actually you are right and I was wrong. Bumperettes do exist on US 997's. MY BAD.

Cheers!

I think we were both correct, It depends on which side of the pond a person is on. In europe you dont have them, Here We do and I dislike that very much.

So much that I would love to see porsche design their cars with higher (5mph)crash standards from the factory, Make the adjustments to meet the fed crash ratings enabeling NorthAmericans to not be stuck with these bubbles beside our plates so that our cars look the same.

Porsche knows US crash ratings are slightly higher and they know they are going to be exporting cars to Northamerica, they even design the rear bumpers to have bumperettes so why cant they go that one step further to incorperate bumperettes right into the rear end and enable the bumper & bumper support to withstand the extra 5mph crash test.

In the long run it would even be smarter from a cost production stand point because they would beable to use only one bumper, one support and produce it for the whole world instead of having numerous different extra parts for different markets. It's late, im tired and Im sure there is something im forgetting or overlooking.
I guess I just always wondered this.

Back to 991, the rear end without the bumperettes really looks great
a+ porsche for an interesting leap forward.
