Same behavior here. I'm not sold on the 991 partially because of the looks, but primarily because I haven't driven it. But what I do know is the wider front end somewhat dismisses the effect of the rear shoulders to me. I keep waiting to see the WB look of the 991 to see how much it improves on the shape.

What I love about my WB car is that from a low front 3/4 view, the wider rear end almost makes it look like someone mated a normal 911 to an abnormally wide rear. I know it's only about in inch on both sides, but that inch adds a lot of volume.

Question is: will the 991 WB have a similar affect? Only time will tell. Until then, my pocketbook will thank me.

Widebody should look good but I'm liking the coke bottle overhead profile of the 991 C2S. Wide to narrow to wide.

Yeah, it looks good. But Wide-Narrow-WIDER should help out. I wish I could find a true overhead view of a WB 997. All I have is a high rear-end view of my GTS. For now, I'm biased towards the 997 WB...not sure if the WB 991 will change that.

Drove an S on Saturday. Very nice indeed. Saying that the 991 has changed is a huge understatement.

Given the Cabs are hitting before summer, logic would dictate that the AWD models hit before winter.

I asked at dealership this weekend and they said expect an announcement in the fall with cars available in December.
Also, given that the 991 is based on the “wide body” frame of the 997, there is a good chance that there will not be a factory 991 wide body. We just have to wait and see.

This would be very surprising and could lead to revolt.

Not sure where you got this info but my dealer came back from CA and said its WB with a lit strip that connects the two rear lights. Guess we will see.

The sales person I was speaking with seem to suggest that the AWD mechanics would be stuffed in to the current frame. If there are plans for a wide body it will be interesting to see. A wider version of the 997 wide body may be too much for the non motorsports crowd.
I guess we will all know for sure this fall.
